Take a high summer break in Wiltshire, staying in the old town of Melksham (mentioned in the Domesday book) and an excellent centre. Close to Lacock, Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon, Holt, Longleat, Caen Hill / Devizes, Bowood and Avebury. They're just off national cycle route 403, and the Bus to / from Bath stops right outside (that's another excellent day out). They also have plenty of parking.
Well House Manor is a "Geek friendly" hotel with wired and wireless Internet throughout, unlimited use for guests 100 mbit connection (and they have 700 programming books too in case you need to brush up your skills!)
